CamsPlanet — one of three sex video chats launched in 2011. Its promotion strategy targeted neither models nor visitors, and so CamsPlanet was soon left with neither. It hung on for a while, but there was no real activity, and now it has closed for good.
PrimeCams (summer 2010)
The PrimeCams sex video chat showed a lot of promise, but was sold off right after launch. The new team tried to promote the chat. They started off briskly, worked actively with models, and pulled in decent traffic. But due to a large number of technical problems it closed for reworking indefinitely. That indefinite period ended in early 2011, when a relaunch attempt was made. Despite an outward appearance of success, some internal issues turned up and the videochat was closed again for rework. For a while Primecams displayed a "The site is under construction" message, but now it's no longer available at all.
LuxeCams (summer 2010)
The chat started operating in the summer of 2010 and shut down its activity almost immediately. The technical solution chosen to build the interface led to some navigation problems. The reasons for stopping activity aren't entirely clear. Most likely, it was due to insufficient funding combined with a large number of technical problems. In early 2011 the administration tried to relaunch the LuxeCams sex video chat, but it didn't work out. For a while after this latest failure the site kept running with no models and no visitors, and now it doesn't open at all (by the way, ads offering to sell this videochat's engine have popped up online).
Videosexi (early 2010)
This sex video chat started operating in the winter of 2010. As a promotion tactic it actively spammed RusCams' models online, apparently hoping for free advertising. It started off decently, paying out money and bonuses. Currently it doesn't open.
CentroChat (late 2009)
This sex video chat billed itself as "a chat built on a new technological level with no analogues in the world." It used installable software for video broadcasting. The admin proved to be a bit of an odd character. The videochat died almost immediately, but stayed in a state of hibernation for a long time (you could sometimes even find one model online on the site).

This approach, understandably, wasn't the best thing for the user count. As if that weren't enough, the administration also started having payment problems with models, along with a rude attitude towards them.

Either way, the Virtgirls sex video chat no longer exists today.
Showcam (fall 2007)
Considered a pioneer of Russian webcam. Opened in 2007, worked well, consistently had models online. Was hacked in early 2008, as a result of which all visitors were redirected to the sex video chat virtgirls.ru. Was later sold off and closed.
